He graduated from Eötvös Lóránd University of Arts and Sciences and obtained his M.A. in History from Central European University, both in Budapest, Hungary. He is a PhD candidate at the Zrínyi Miklós National Defense University. Since 2001 he has been a research fellow at the Institute of History of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. His research and interests range across Second World War and Cold War military and intelligence history, as have his publications. He worked as researcher and historical expert in many prime-time international documentary films, including the Das Wunder von Bern - Die wahre Geschichte (2004), Auschwitz: The Nazis and the Final Solution (2005), Gettysburg to Budapest (2007) and the Blessed is the Match: The Life and Death of Hannah Senesh (2008) which was shortlisted for Academy Awards in 2008. Most recently he worked as a military adviser in the French feature film, La Rafle.
